Skilled Nominated visa

The Subclass 190 visa is a permanent, points-tested visa for skilled workers who are nominated by an Australian state or territory government. It allows you to live and work in Australia on a permanent basis.

To be eligible, you must first obtain a positive skills assessment for your nominated occupation. After that, you need to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI). If selected and nominated by a state or territory, you will receive an invitation to apply for the 190 visa.

What this visa lets you do:

With a 190 visa, you can:

🔹Live, work and study anywhere in Australia

🔹Enrol in Medicare (Australia’s public healthcare system)

🔹Sponsor eligible relatives for permanent residence

State Nomination Process:

Each Australian state and territory maintains its own occupation list based on local skill needs. While some occupations are accepted across multiple states, individual nomination requirements—such as English level or work experience—may differ.

Once you select a preferred state or territory, submit an EOI through SkillSelect. If you score highly enough, the state may invite you to apply for nomination. Upon receiving nomination, you’ll get an invitation to apply for the 190 visa, with 60 days to lodge your application.
